For one of our internationally operating clients, various SCM KPIs (key performance indicators) from the SD and MM module were implemented in the Business Warehouse (BW) system.
The KPIs are generated on a monthly basis by transferring the necessary data into a client specific MS Excel layout. In addition, special reports have been implemented to allow for in-depth analysis of each KPI.
The rollout of the new reporting was conducted globally, so that all offices can directly benefit from the additional information.
By standardizing the KPIs, a unification of the associated (internal) business processes was achieved. A positive effect of the increased transparency is also that the monthly reports reveal incorrect or missing data entries and thus the data quality can be gradually improved by adapting the respective processes.
Since the SCM KPI reporting has already generated some important findings, ABS, in cooperation with the client team, will develop further KPIs and integrate them into the monthly reporting.
